As skills and equipment are lost, so too are the buildings that housed them together with the shared memories of the communities that have worked and lived amongst them. These proud and sturdy structures are often the only tangible evidence of a community's memories and values, and they deserve to be respectfully re-used.

At present, the Looms are housed in an industrial unit at Stourport-on-Severn but a more appropriate home would be in an old industrial building with some capacity for the future expansion of the facilities. Such a building is the Rock Works at Kidderminster: a derelict, Victorian, carpet factory. Built in 1884 and extended in 1927, its location is adjacent to the site of the first carpet factory in Kidderminster (1746). The building would accommodate the needs of both Workshop and Centre, and its central position makes it a convenient location for Kidderminster residents and visitors. We are in the process of compiling a funding application in order to acquire the building.
