The Living Looms Workshop will conserve threatened carpet looms by owning and maintaining them in production, which will produce high quality carpet and conserve skills and knowledge.

The Textile Resource Centre will provide convenient access to manufacturers of traditional textiles for curators, architects and owners of historic houses. It will also conduct research into 'lost' products and technologies.

The Building chosen to be the home of the Workshop and Centre is the Rock Works. Near the canal in central Kidderminster it is a locally Listed, but long-term derelict, Victorian carpet factory. By conserving buildings, equipment and skills we conserve memories and values: the very foundations of a community, from which sustainable regeneration can grow.

In the Future, the Centre will also provide vocational training in the design, weaving and engineering skills associated with the textile industry, and Continuing Professional Development courses for architects, curators, decorators and installers responsible for the care of historic carpets and the specification of replacement
